How we can help
The Cottage’s eating disorder programme is due to re-launch in January 2019. The new programme will be an exclusive, standalone, residential offering for all clients, and will be a 28 - 42 day offering. There will be an exciting mix of exposure work, psychotherapy and psycho-education. We will have cutting-edge therapies, delivering innovation that is driven by the latest market research.
In addition, our team is increasing, and is highly trained, skilled, and experienced in delivering residential eating disorder programmes. Historically, outcomes have been good, and the anticipation is that this will be a hugely popular and evolving extended primary treatment programme.
The most common eating disorders are Anorexia and Bulimia. Anorexia is caused by over-dieting and an excessive concern for weight and appearance. Anorexics lose weight rapidly, skip meals and still feel that they are overweight. Bulimia is manifested by overeating followed by episodes of purging, or vomiting.
At The Cottage, we understand that having a negative relationship with food can consume your entire life. Our specialists are experts in treating this condition safely and sympathetically, ensuring they recognise the underlying causes, as well as concentrating on the presenting symptoms. This involves treating the mind, as well as the body.
All of our treatment is entirely exclusive and confidential so you can feel as comfortable and as relaxed as possible during your stay. Meals are prepared with your individual needs in mind and our expert chefs and dietician are available to offer you full support. They will prepare and serve meals to you within the comfort of the Cottage itself.
The Cottage is part of the Life Works hospital in Woking. The main hospital also provides a wide range of treatment options for Eating Disorders. For more information on how Life Works can help, please click here.
